My dad. The best I could have ever wished for. I remember my dad always putting his family first. He used to take us out every weekend - we would go winkle-picking and camping and exploring. I got my love of nature from my dad.
He was always the softy when we were growing up – we knew we could get away with stuff with my dad. He still is a softy and a very big worrier.
Dad was born in Brantham, near Manningtree. He was an only child. He trained as an electrician and worked for Fisons when I was growing up, then went onto work for the Electricity board.
He can turn his hand to solve any practical problem – often with black electrical tape! I always remember at Christmas that as well as our individual presents from mum and dad, dad always made us a joint present. One I remember particularly was one of those 'buzzing' wire games – where you have to get the loop of wire over the mishaped wire course without touching it. I love that about Dad, he always puts his family first. We are so lucky, when other Dads were busy working and worrying about careers, Dad is always thinking of us.
