Los Angeles

- Friends that were at this event:
The second part of our journey up the west coast of America. We managed to time it with massive rain storms!
No kidding! LA has sunshine over 300 days of the year! We got there in the middle of the biggest rainstorm ever. We booked a city tour around LA which turned into a disaster as they were all open top buses and even if you sat downstairs the whole thing leaked! Still, we got to see Rodeo Drive, Beverley Hills, Hollywood Boulevard plus spent some time in Santa Monica where we ate at Bubba Gumps! The best shrimps ever! I recommend that place to anyone.
Also really liked the Farmers Market in Hollywood - on a nice day I bet it's beautiful.
We saw a homeless guy that made me stop and think too - he was a veteran soldier and he held a board up that said "any help appreciated - even a hello can help".
Will try and remember that message. Sometimes just hello can help.
The journey continues on the Amtrak to San Francisco.
