Took the Amtrak from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Stayed at a bit of a dive but SanFran was really beautiful... highlight was the naked man

We stayed or two nights at the Marina Inn on Octavia Street. It was an awful hotel, but funny with it. Who else advertises a Continental Breakfast and provides a kitchen with a pile of hard boiled eggs, a banana muffin and packet microwave?! Brilliantly funny.

The rest of the trip was brilliant. We had a great tour around the usual places; Alcatraz, the Castro, Golden Gate, the curviest road. We walked up Lombard from our hotel – boy that's one high hill!

We also spent a lot of our time at Fisherman's Wharf. Really enjoyed that. We ended up going to the Castro for a bite to eat one night. We'd seen the film 'Milk' and really wanted to see what the Castro was like. It was an eye-opener – especially when a bloke wearing nothing more than a hat and a c*ck ring walked down the street. It was nuts, but great fun.
