I'm not lost!

Spread a little happiness…

Ever loved a book so much that it moved the very soul of you? Or seen a movie that changed the way you looked at life? Well how cool would it be to pass that feeling on? To brighten up someone elses' day? Well, now you can with our 'I'm not lost' sticker scheme.

What you do:

  1. Dust off your old books, DVDs and CDs
  2. Get some free stickers from us
  3. Stick a sticker on the front, fill in your name and leave it somewhere public.*
  4. Feel warm and fuzzy that someone, somewhere gets the chance to love that book/film/whatever as a wonderful surprise.

Why should I give away my stuff?

It's the little things in life that make a persons day. How cool would it be to find a book that someone else has previously enjoyed and shared with you? After all, books, once read, generally stay on a shelf and never see the light of day – much better that some other lucky soul gets the pleasure of them, don't you think? You get the chance to help inspire someone else – and you're spreading a little kindness.

What else you can do:

Here's some suggestions for taking the fun further:

  1. Try hiding your book in a random place, taking a picture and uploading it to twitter, facebook and give clues to get a treasure hunt going.
  2. Send us in the photo of the weirdest places you've left or found an item – remember it has to be found for the love to spread! – we'll be adding some of them to our blog so why not take a look there for ideas...
  3. Add the name of the book/film/song to your Odbody lifepath and write the URL into the inside of the book and you may get to discover who picked the book up and what they thought of it.
  4. Give away other stuff – we're all for spreading things that others might find inspiring or that might brighten their day. Why stop at books and DVDs?

I've found a book/film/cd – what now?!

Well, firstly – enjoy it! Some kind soul wanted to share it with you – that's the kindness of strangers for you. But on top of that:

  1. Find out who left it for you – sign up to Odbody and search for the name or add the title of the item to your lifepath and see who else was inspired by it. Please be aware, some people do just like to remain anonymous givers.
  2. Start sharing your inspirations! – download or order your free stickers and start sharing your books, films and cds with others. It's good to pass it on.

*Remember – If you're leaving the item somewhere like an airport, make sure it's obviously just a book – observe the security rules about leaving bags unattended! If you need to put it in a bag as the place you're leaving it is outside make sure it's a clear plastic bag so that the item can be recognised.
